T-2016-018: pH kinetics and antimicrobial efficacy of a calcium-based alkaline coating
Description succincte
(Anglais)
pH kinetics and antimicrobial efficacy of a calcium-based alkaline coating
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
Implant-associated infections cause dramatic implication for patients and the health care system and antimicrobial coatings are desired. We propose to assess a degradable calcium-based alkaline coating. Our aim is to develop a coating thick enough to generate alkaline conditions and inhibit bacterial growth. We will measure the pH-kinetics and its related antimicrobial effect. Our goal is to understand the structure-function relation and ensure antimicrobial efficacy in-vivo.
