The integration of diagnostic colorimetric bioassays in microfluidic systems with distinct measurement reading, allows the utilization as simple, point of care tools for home diagnostics. The project consortium pursues the integration of resonant nano-gratings into microfluidics to optically enhance the maximum spectral absorbance of a color agent used for the bioassay. In this proposal we focus on the chemical immobilization of biomolecules on the high refractive index surfaces of the grating.
