To be used successfully in continuous reactor systems, enzymes must either be retained using filtration membranes or immobilized on a solid part of the reactor. The proposer?s team has recently developed a strategy that enables the reversible supramolecular immobilization of bioactive enzyme?polymer conjugates at the surface of filtration membranes. In this project, the partners aim at implementing this method at a larger scale and to apply to the degradation of lactose in milk or whey.
