Establishment of standardized functional profiling service for individualized cancer treatment

Abstract (German)

On average, 25-40% of selected 1st line anti-cancer therapies fail. The dismal outcome in cancer treatment has compelled scientists and clinicians to focus more on personalized treatment strategies for future therapy selection. This project aims to reduce the number of non-responding therapies by developing the first standardized functional profiling which is based on the generation of patients-specific primary 3D microtumors to perform drug testing and to classify therapeutic possibilities in vitro.
