Development of a coating to prevent discharges in X-ray tubes
Abstract
(German)
Electrical discharges are a major challenge in high power x-ray tubes. To prevent this, a coated ceramic insulator between anode and cathode is used. The coating has the function to minimize secondary electron emission and must have a very small but defined conductivity to minimize the buildup of charges which otherwise would unload in disastrous discharges whit the result of a damaged X-ray tube. The development of a useful and good characterized coating is the main goal of this project.
