The aim of the project is to examine the root causes and dynamics of the conflict in Libya on the one hand, and of violent extremism in North Africa on the other hand through the provision of field-based analysis, policy recommendations, and targeted advocacy. The results will be summarized in two research papers and a Workshop over two days in Cairo, aiming at increasing the understanding within the Swiss government, national, and international policymakers, as well as civil society, of the root causes and dynamics of the conflict in Libya and extremism in North Africa.
