Die weltweite Produktion von Textilfasern wird von heute 90 auf 125 Mio t/Jahr bis 2030 steigen. Kunstfasern spielen hierbei die dominierende Rolle. Nach dem Spinnprozess wird durch Luftverwirbelung im Garn ein Fadenschluss erzeugt. Nachteilig dabei ist der hohe Druckluftbedarf, der weltweit einem Energieverbrauch von ca. 1.5 Atomkraftwerken entspricht. Durch ein neuartiges Düsenkonzept soll dieser Energieverbrauch um 50% reduziert werden.

Short description (English)

The worldwide production of textile yarns will increase from today 90 to 125 Million tons/year by 2030. Man-made fibres take up the major part of this. After the spinning process the yarn is processed in air interlacing jets to close the filaments. Disadvantageous in this step is the high consumption of pressurized air which equals the amount of energy production of 1.5 atomic power plants. With conceptually new jets the energy consumption shall be reduced by 50%.
