The Swiss Hydro Asset Modernization Assessment project aims at studying the impact of the economic and environmental contexts on the selection of the hydropower plants renovations options. The impact of Swiss energy policy, of the evolution of the electricity price, and of the global warming on profitability of the hydropower renovation project will be assessed.

Le projet d’Évaluation de la modernisation des actifs hydroélectriques suisses a pour objectif d’étudier l’impact du contexte économique et environnemental sur les choix des options de rénovation des aménagements hydroélectriques. L’impact des stratégies énergétiques politiques suisses, de l’évolution du prix de l’électricité, du réchauffement climatique sur la rentabilité des projets de rénovation de centrales hydrauliques sera évalué.

The Swiss Hydro Asset Modernization Assessment project (SHAMA) aims at studying the impact of the political, economic and environmental contexts on the best technical solutions for hydropower plant renovation resulting from a systematic assessment process using the RENOVHydro Library. The various Swiss and European political strategies, the evolution of electricity price, climatic changes and environmental constraints are factors that have a direct impact on return on investment of the hydropower renovation for which the best technico-economic solution can be significantly different.
