First, urban freight logistics schemes (incl. service trips) and the impact of urban freight logistics on energy consumption, on GHG emissions and the use of non renewable energy sources is

investigated.

Second, a vision for energy efficient and CO2-free urban freight logistics for 2050 is developed based on the energy turnaround targets and the CO2-targets. Solutions with a high potential to contribute to the targets of the energy turnaround 2050 and reduction of GHG emissions are identified.

Third, an action plan is developed which shows the necessary actions to reach the 2050 vision. Also an interim horizon 2030 is drafted to make the necessary interim targets and actions more visible also for short and medium term.

To identify trends and drivers of change in urban freight logistics/energy consumption

To develop scenarios for 2050 and their impact on the energy consumption, assessment of problems and

challenges, requirements for energy efficient urban freight logistics

To identify and evaluate energy efficient and CO2-free urban freight logistics solutions

To develop a vision 2050 for energy efficient and CO2-free urban freight logistics

To develop an action plan for CO2-free/energy efficient urban freight logistics solutions

To summarise the main results in a guidebook with key findings and recommendations.
