Liquid waterproofing membranes with improved mechanical properties

Abstract (German)

Liquid flexible waterproofing membranes are slurries, which are applied by a brush or a trowel onto a building structure to make it water impermeable. Once applied, they must be capable to bridge cracks generated in the substrate. The goal of the project is to understand the mechanics of crack-bridging of thin layers, and to characterize these composites in order to develop improved materials.
