DIOFIS is the follow-up project of DITHER (CTI n°17046.1 PFNM-NM) in which a novel method for temperature monitoring at the drill/bone interface, to avoid bone necrosis during dental implant preparation, has been demonstrated to be feasible. The aim of DIOFIS is to bring this dental thermometer to a demonstrator level, which is able to cope with the application environment (water, body fluids, bone debris etc) and can thus be used to perform clinical tests on bone structures
