A virtual operator with self-learning ability for Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) drilling is envisioned. Self-learning algorithms and expert system are developed during the project, which are combined using fusion rules. Through process optimisation, the system capability is applied to EDM drilling of aerospace parts to increase productivity and enable customer tailored technology optimisation to achieve high resource efficiency.
