Parylene coatings are in widespread use as moisture and dielectric barriers. For many applications. e.g. in the biomedical field, additional functions of parylene coatings are of increasing interest. Different approaches using co-deposition are therefore examined to achieve multifunctional xylylene-based coatings with special attention on antibacterial properties.
