Für die mit der Planung und dem Bau von Strasseninfrastruktur für den fliessenden und ruhenden Verkehr befassten Infrastruktur- und Städteplaner, Unternehmen und Behörden stellt sich zunehmend die Frage, wie, angesichts der bevorstehenden Einführung automatisierter Fahrzeuge, die vorhandene Infrastruktur optimal genutzt, erhalten und nachhaltig weiter entwickelt werden kann und soll.

Das Forschungsprojekt analysiert den gegenwärtigen Stand des nationalen und internationalen Wissens sowie Forschung und Entwicklung als auch die Entwicklungsziele / Tendenzen und aggregiert diese zu einem holistischen Gesamtbild. Daraus werden Szenarien für die Einführung automatisierter Fahrzeuge erstellt und deren Auswirkungen auf das Strassensystem, den ruhenden Verkehr, das öffentliche Verkehrssystem, die Anforderungen an die technische Infrastruktur, den Städtebau, Raumplanung, Umwelt sowie die Finanzierungs- und Rechtsgrundlagen skizziert.

Die Themen, für die eine vertiefende Forschung erforderlich sind, werden ermittelt und Denkanstösse für den künftigen notwendigen Handlungsbedarf der öffentlichen Hand werden aufgezeigt.

Infrastructure and urban planners, enterprises and public authorities involved in planning and construction of road infrastructure for floating and stationary traffic are increasingly concerned about the challenges of the upcoming introduction of automated vehicles on how the existing infrastructure can be used and maintained in an optimal way and further developed in view of sustainability.

The research project analyzes the current state of art of national and international knowledge as well as of research and development together with development goals/tendences and aggregates these into a holistic picture. Out of this, scenarios regarding the introduction of automated vehicles will be created, and the impact on the road system, the stationary traffic, the public transport system, the requirements on technical infrastructure, urban planning, and environment as well as the impact on financing and the regulatory framework will be outlined.

Topics, for which further in-depth research is needed, will be identified. Ideas for future need for action with focus to the public authorities  in particular, will be proposed.

Objectifs du projet (Allemand)

Im Zusammenhang mit der Einführung des automatisierten Fahrens in der Schweiz stellen sich vielfältige Fragen. Diese sollen im Rahmen eines Forschungspaketes angegangen werden. Das vorliegende Initialprojekt bildet die Grundlage dafür.
Es analysiert die möglichen Auswirkungen aus der Einführung des automatisierten Fahrens in der Schweiz, identifiziert die Lücken beim heutigen Wissensstand und initiiert die nötigen Forschungsprojekte zur Schliessung dieser Wissenslücken. Ausserdem wird eine Übersicht über die insbesondere auf die öffentliche Hand zukommenden Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit dem automatisierten Fahren erstellt werden.
Die Ergebnisse des gesamten Forschungspaketes schaffen für die Politik, die zuständigen Behörden und die relevanten Stakeholder die Grundlage, um sich angemessen auf die absehbare Einführung des automatisierten Fahrens in der Schweiz vorbereiten und diese bei Bedarf auch proaktiv beeinflussen zu können.

Objectifs du projet (Anglais)

Within the context of the introduction of automated driving in Switzerland, various questions are posed. These shall be attacked within the frame of a research package. The present initial project is the base for it.
It analyzes possible impacts due to the introduction of automated driving in Switzerland, identifies gaps in current knowledge and initiates further research projects in order to close these knowledge gaps. In addition and particularly drawn to the public sector, an overview of challenges related to the automated driving will be outlined.
The results of the whole research package will establish a base for politics, the responsible authorities and the relevant stakeholders in order to prepare themselves properly for the introduction of automated driving in Switzerland and to influence it proactively if necessary.
