Abstract

Sleepiness is estimated to be involved in up to 20% of all driving accidents on roads, and comparable or even higher in mining areas. Together with the Sleep-Wake-Centre, Inselspital, SAFEmine will develop a Fatigue- and Sleepiness-Prediction-Device, to prevent sleepiness related driving accidents in mining areas. Simultaneously, the device will be implemented in a clinical research environment in order to improve the diagnostic accuracy in assessing sleepiness.
