The goal of the project is the development of a GPS-free urban mobility mapping service using mobile terminals equipped with a SIM card. The service will be offered to city authorities, and will be based on novel algorithms for network-based trajectory- and speed reconstruction, and for recognition of mode of transport. The technology will be deployed to monitor and map urban traffic for Smart Cities services.
