Robot-assisted gait rehabilitation: from guided to challenged walking: MIP: Lutz Medical engineering
Abstract
(German)
Robotic gait therapy allows highly intensive training within a safe setting for patients while the therapist is relieved from labor and can focus on training supervision. However, robotic therapy mostly remains restricted to one training task such as over ground walking. In contrast, patients face many challenges on a daily basis such as stair climbing, standing up or sitting down. A new gait therapy robot, ¿the FLOAT¿, allows training of many tasks by one device.
