Development of the first wide-field ¿inverted¿ positioning system dedicated to general surgery. In this|configuration, the sensing system is embedded on the tracked objects and the reference is external. The|integration of the reference to the surgical lamp considerably simplifies the deployment within the operating|suite. The change in paradigm and expected performances requires complete re-­thinking of the|mathematical models. Embedding the sensing into the tracked object requires further investigations at the|edge of the technology.
