Abstract

This project measures the potential positive effects of Swiss multinational companies (SMCs) on local sustainability in Developing Countries (DCs). For that purpose, the project defines different input and output indicators that capture the degree of local embeddedness and the impact on local sustainability. The indicators will then be applied to measure the impact of three SMCs that are active in at least two DCs. The project will for the first time allow to capture such positive sustainability effects.
