Abstract (German)

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic and progressive lung disease with poor prognosis. Clinical evidence suggests that the mechanical strain induced by the respiration plays a key role in the progression of the disease. In contrast to current in-vivo and in-vitro models that poorly mimic key processes that take place in IPF, an advanced in-vitro model of the lung will be developed to test anti-fibrotic compounds.
