The objective of this project is to improve the performance and reliability of mechanical systems. A surface nanostructuring process will be developed for three dimensional metallic microparts and applied to improve the frictional properties of mechanical contacts. Design optimisation and concept validation through tribological testing will be followed by long term functional evaluation and fabrication of pre-series of components.
