Fast impregnation of CFRP parts with improved toughness

Abstract (Deutsch)

The project is focused on the development of new thermoplastic binders for carbon fibre fabrics enabling fast impregnation with epoxy resins in a Compression Resin Transfer Moulding process. In addition, an improvement of the toughness of the final part will be achieved and these binders allow a preforming before moulding process without additional processing. The binder recipes are optimised on the basis of the permeability of the resin and the mechanical properties of the hardened material.
