Complex forming of plasma treated natural fibre thermoplastic composites
Abstract
(German)
Natural fibre thermoplastic composites can be an ecological material for our sustainable future. Our research has produced tough, impact resistance composites by employing plasma processes and polymer modification to aid wetting and adhesion during production. We propose to demonstrate industrial readiness of our newly developed composites by forming complex shapes and further minimising porosity and resin content by altering the polymer shear rate, hence lowering viscosity during impregnation.
