The project develops and tests an integrated approach and a set of business processes to manage indirect upstream suppliers (sub-suppliers). Regulation but also customers and investors increasingly hold companies responsible for practices and issues in their supply chain. With an approx. share of 2/3 of the cost of goods sold, sub-suppliers play a crucial role for Swiss manufacturers and retailers. Swiss companies require means to control relevant parts of their supply chain, to manage sub-suppliers and to formalize sub-supplier management in addition to the established supplier management.
