I.C.A.R.E. - (Integrated Communication and Augmented Reality Equipment)

Abstract (German)

Firemen operate in dangerous environments with low visibility. This project aims at greatly enhancing their safety and work efficiency through a wearable see-through augmented reality thermal imager. The research undertaken in this project will address a new colour blending model and colour calibration technique for see-through displays. The resulting technology will be tested by professional firemen and, once validated, the market potential will be proven.
