The project is dedicated to develop, test and validate a new concept for ultrasonic transducers based on|launching and detecting surface acoustic waves with periodically distributed bulk acoustic wave resonators.|Such transducers will be used to realize identifiable, wireless sensors capable to withstand harsh|environments like temperatures in excess of 600°C, and allowing for high frequency operation, typically|within the 2.45 GHz-centered ISM band. Prototypes will be implemented as temperature sensors in gas|turbines.
