OMA Project aims at automatically detecting and analyzing defects on irregular leather surfaces, recording them and generating an optimal cutting plan given specific shapes and specifications - so as to avoid the randomness and subjectivity of a human analysis and nesting, with a fragmented vision. Some nesting algorithms already exist, but only for smooth surfaces and with a manual defect input. The potential gain by optimizing the use of these surfaces is enormous.
