The fabrication of 3D formed aircraft windshields with exceptional bending is a strong competence of MECAPLEX. Two aircraft windshields are now in the pipeline to be equipped with an integrated heating system. Standard industry solutions to fabricate transparent heating elements for windshields fail to provide a robust heating film that can be thermoformed into highly deformed windshields. Therefore, we are developing a slightly stretchable heating element with high transparency to be integrated on MECAPLEX¿s standard windshields.
