The objective of this project is to obtain the dynamic characteristics of large dams by way of in-situ measurements. In a first phase, a one-year program of ambient vibration tests has been initiated at Mauvoisin's arch dam where the low-amplitude natural frequencies and associated mode shapes are being obtained as a function of the reservoir level. In a second phase, a permanent measurment system must be installed
