Die Korrosion der Bewehrung stellt die massgebliche Schädigung bei Stahlbetonbauten dar. In der Projektierungsnorm SIA 262 sind die Anforderungen an die Bewehrungsüberdeckung in Abhängigkeit von der Expositionsklasse enthalten (Tab. 18). In der Ausgabe 2013 der SIA 262 sind auch erstmals Toleranzen für die Bewehrungsüberdeckung in Ziffer A.3.5 und zur zugrunde gelegten Nutzungsdauer klarer angegeben. Toleranzen für die Lage der Bewehrung sind zudem in der SN EN 13670, Ziffer 10, enthalten. Bei Verwendung nichtrostender Betonstähle ist das SIA Merkblatt 2029  zu beachten.
Zur Kontrolle der Bewehrungsüberdeckung liegen jedoch keine allgemein anerkannten Hinweise vor, wie viel (der Flächen) zu messen ist und wie die Ergebnisse zu interpretieren sind. Dies könnte ein Grund sein, dass die Messung der Bewehrungsüberdeckung nicht sehr häufig vorgenommen wird. Falls frühzeitig bekannt ist, dass die Überdeckung nicht ausreichend ist, können Massnahmen ergriffen werden, um Schäden am Stahlbetonbauteil zu vermeiden. Bei Anwendern ist umstritten, ob die Regeln als absolute Grenzwerte anzusehen sind oder diese als z.B. 95 bzw. 90 % Fraktile interpretiert werden können. Letzteres wird im Merkblatt „Betondeckung und Bewehrung“ vom Deutschen Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein (DBV) angewandt. In anderen Ländern bestehen keine zum DBV-Merkblatt ähnliche Dokumente, die die Messung und Beurteilung der Bewehrungsüberdeckung regeln. In der Software der Messgeräte der Firmen Hilti und proceq ist die DBV-Auswertung enthalten. Für die Ausarbeitung der Empfehlungen (Merkblatt) wird eine Ko-Finanzierung durch den SIA beantragt (die NK 262 hat den Antrag zur Erarbeitung des MB an der Sitzung vom 23.01.2015 untersützt).
Mit dem Ringversuch, z.B. an einer Musterwand in der TFB, soll die Genauigkeit der Messgeräte und deren Auswertung (u.a. Software, die die Messsignale prüft und ggf. korrigiert) überprüft werden.

The corrosion of the rebars ist the dominating damaging process for reinforced concrete strructures. In the design code SIA 262 requirements are given for several exposure classes (Tab. 18). For the first time, in the issue 2013 of the SIA 262 tolerances for the rebar cover are specified in cipher A.3.5 and the planned service life. Additionally, tolerances for the rebar covers are given in der SN EN 13670, cipher 10. If stainless steel rebars are used, the SIA guideline 2029  has to be considered.
For the control of the rebar cover no common accepted guidelines are present specifying, how many measurements (areas) must be mesaured and the how the results have to be evaluated.
This could be a reason that the measurement of the rebar cover is not widely performed. If an insufficient rebar cover can be deteced early, remedial measures can be taken to prevent damages on the construction element. For users of the SIA 262 it is disputed , if the tolerances mentioned in the standard are absolute limits of have to be intepreted as e.g. 95 or 90 % fraktile. The latter is used in the DBV guideline on concrete cover and rebars of the German Deutschen Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein. In other countries no documents exists, which are similar to the DBV guideline and which specify the execution of the measurements and the evaluation of the results. The software from Hilti and proceq contain the evaluation according to the DBV gudiline.
For the elaboration of the recommendations (SIA guideline) a co-funding by the SIA is applied. The standard comittee NK 262 of the SIA supports on the meeting 23.1.2015 the application for the elaboration of the SIA guideline.
With the round robin test, made at TFB, the accuracy of the measuring devices and the data evaluation (including the software based data analysis and correction) should be tested.

Objectifs du projet (Allemand)

Durchführung eines Ringversuchs zur Ermittlung der Aussagekraft und Messgenauigkeit von Bewehrungsüberdeckungsmessgeräten inkl. der in den Geräten verwendeten Signalauswertung. Es sollen klare Kriterien zur Beurteilung einer genügenden bzw. ungenügenden Bewehrungsüberdeckung erarbeitet werden. Bei einer ungenügenden Bewehrungsüberdeckung können dann noch vor Eintritt von Schäden (Instandsetzungs-) Massnahmen ergriffen werden. Diese Massnahmen sollen sowohl im Forschungsbericht als auch im SIA Merkblatt dokumentiert werden.
Ausarbeitung von Empfehlungen (SIA Merkblatt) zur (a) Durchführung von Messungen zur Bestimmung der Bewehrungsüberdeckung und (b) Beurteilung der Ergebnisse in Hinblick vor allem auf die Regelungen der SIA 262 zur Bewehrungsüberdeckung. 

Objectifs du projet (Anglais)

Execution of a round robin test to evaluate the validity and accuracy of the cover meters and their software. It is aimed at to elaborate criteria for a sufficient resp. insufficient cover depths with respect to the requirements given in the standards. If the cover depths is insufficient remedial actions can be performed before damages occur. The remedial actions will be mentioned in the SIA guideline as well the ASTRA reasearch report.
Elaboration of recommendations (SIA guideline) for (a) the execution of measurements of the rebar cover and (b) evaluation of the results mainly with respect to the requirements given in SIA 262.
