Abstract
(German)
The goal of this feasability study is to develop improved wood-acetylation methods based on novel acetylation reagents. Current state-of-the-art approaches to achieve wood-acylation use acetic anhydride, a reagent which concurrently produces acetic acid. The removal of this side-product is extremely costly and imperative. The herein proposed acetylation reagents are designed to minimize and/or eliminate the production of the acetic acid side-product.
