Thermal Energy Harvesting for ultra-small temperature differences

Abstract (German)

Energy harvesting from temperature differences (EHTD) is a state-of-the art technology to power wireless sensors and actuators. However, for small temperature differences (< 5 K), EHTD is not yet possible due to the very low voltages (<300 mV). This project aims at developing electronics, power storage and firmware components to make EHTD possible for such cases. The prototype integration into a smart radiator will demonstrate the potential of this development.
