Self-assembling peptides for regeneration of the periodontal ligament: MIP: Credentis
Abstract
(Deutsch)
Periodontitis, #6 disease worldwide is an inflammatory& progressive disease of the complex tissues of the periodontal ligament potentially leading to tooth loss. An effective regenerative treatment is still rare. Self-assembling peptides have shown their potential to act as regeneration promoting matrixes. To evaluate the best suited peptide library candidate, a 3D in vitro test system will be established. Optimizations, e.g drug release of the basic peptide, will result in an optimal peptide-based product for the regeneration of periodontal tissue.
