Abstract (German)

Versantis develops a life-saving detoxification therapy to rapidly clear out toxic metabolites, such as|ammonia, from the body. An excess of ammonia in the blood leads to severe brain damages and death. It|affects 0.5 billion people worldwide and causes over 200¿000 deaths annually. There is currently a crucial|unmet medical need for a safe, fast, and efficient ammonia-removal therapy. This project will allow|assessing the translational potential of our innovative technology.
