This project aims at adapting and applying innovative and cost effective In Vitro assays to assess the bioaccumulation potential of volatile and hydrophobic chemicals, e.g. perfume ingredients, as required in regulation dossiers worldwide. It combines permeation through living intestinal cells and metabolism in hepatocytes and S9 fraction. It will reduce registration costs and animal testing and thus is a competitive advantage for our Swiss and principally Geneva industry.
