Feasibility study of applying the fuzzy-nets approach to online recast layer thickness prediction and adjustment in wire electrical discharge machining
Abstract
(English)
Recast layer is considered as a major defect of parts produced by wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) processes in applications with high reliability requirements such as the aeronautical sector. The objective of this project is to study the feasibility of applying the fuzzy-nets approach to online prediction and adjustment of the recast layer thickness of parts machined by WEDM processes. The goal of online prediction and adjustment of the recast layer thickness is to ensure that this thickness does not exceed a critical threshold specified by the user.
