The modules performing the functions of money payment and restitution in automatic tills and vending|machines include coin acceptors to assure the coin recognition and acceptance functions. The new 3D|coin recognition system to be developed in this project, based on the measurement of the coin relief, will|meet the needs of new automata coin acceptors, identifying coins with unprecedented accuracy, and|enabling more efficient vending machines in many countries.
