Abstract (German)

In copper production ore is ground in big ball mills. The machines are serviced according to schedule even when wear parts are not fully worn down. Each service stop causes production loss of several hundred thousand USD.|The project idea is to develop a smart monitoring system to predict when maintenance will be needed and take actions only when it is really required to reduce downtime and minimize production loss.|
