Abstract (German)

This project addresses the development of a microencapsulated porcine hepatocyte product for treatment of liver failure. Out of four hydrogels developed for encapsulation the best one is selected for upscale of the synthesis procedure. The product characterization aims to establish release assays in clinical application for viability, composition, and function. A flow chart will be established for the supply of donor animals that meets the microbial safety requirements.
