Abstract
(Deutsch)
OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) lighting has the potential to become a multibillion business in the next|years. SEFAR electrode technology based on high-precision fabrics is a potential low-cost solution to|replace ITO, the expensive current standard transparent conductive material in large-area OLED devices|for lighting applications. Sefar technology is today one step behind being validated in the manufacturing|lines of main OLED makers and to potentially become part of their supply chain. Making this important step|requires a R&D effort to develop Sefar electrodes into a complete technology with a) the required surface|planarity at high yields, b) little pre-processing required at OLED manufacturers, c) recommended handling|and pre-processing steps and conditions and d) acceptable stability of the completed OLED products.|Making this important step will allow Sefar to become a main player in this multibillion business and to|create high-quality jobs in Switzerland when, as widely foreseen, OLED lighting finally takes off in the next|coming years. It is the main objective of this project to develop Sefar fabric-based electrodes into such a|complete technology.
