Abstract (Deutsch)

Development of a 1 MW vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) with a composite blade which is optimized for cost, manufacturability, and durability. The project will employ a combination of fluid dynamics and composite structure simulations to define the optimal stacking sequence and fiber orientation for the blades and the best mechanical design of the system.
