This project aims at developing a Y-TZP ceramic dental implant that has the same outstanding performance|as the latest titanium implants marketed by Straumann today. The project addresses two main tasks: (1) to|modify the ceramic implant towards high mechanical reliability and high osseointegration; (2) to adapt the invivo|and in-vitro tests shown for titanium implants (Empa and Straumann) to tune materials and morphologies,|particularly Y-ZrO2 implants to boost bone integration and clinical success. The launch of a novel ceramic|dental implant termed ZLActive will outperform competing products and will secure leading market position|for Straumann.
