3D face scanning and verification on mobile devices

Abstract (German)

With annual costs exceeding $ 200 billion to businesses worldwide, identity theft has become a key security concern in our digital economy. At present, nearly all digital services use online credentials or passwords to assert individual's identity which is remarkably weak in term of security. This project aims to propose a new identification approach by inventing a 3D face modelling and recognition technology using standard smartphones or tablets.
