Abstract (German)

A sol-gel-based variant of the "granulated silica method" for the production of preforms for specialty optical fibers will be developped and optimized. From the preforms designed and produced, benchmark fibers will be drawn. The focus will be put on an all-solid step index LMA fiber and on a leakage channel fiber because of their market significance and their growth potential.
