The aim of this project is to reduce the energy consumption and increase the durability of treadmills. Both of|these factors are largely influenced by the sliding of the belt against the deck. Previously, attempts to|improve the system have concentrated on the belt fabric and methods of lubricating the sliding contact. In|this project both the belt and deck will be redesigned to reduce friction and wear at the moving parts.
