Generation of microcutting tools using advanced laser technologies MIP: Fraisa SA
Abstract
(German)
Laser cutting edge generation of carbide rotationally symmetric microcutting tools of less-than or equal to Ø 1 mm whereby chipping properties of said tools are enhanced by means of laser surface structuring.|State-of-the-art laser microtechnologies and ultrashort picosecond laser pulses will improve microcutting tool capabilities by optimising tool form and surface characteristics while minimising tolerance gap less-than or equal to 5 µm. Cutting tool performance is evaluated by analysing process parameters of lasered and conventionally ground microcutting tools in chipping processes.
