Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
The project goal consists in the construction of a superconducting magnet insert with commercial REBCO high-temperature superconducting tapes (coated conductors). The target in terms of produced magnetic field is set to 6 T which is added to the 15 T background magnetic field generated by the available test system, resulting in a total field of 21 T_ ln order to achieve this goal it is required the development of dedicated winding, splicing and impregnation techniques. ln addition, the protection of the HTS insert against quenches will be studied, considering the amount of copper stabilizer around the HTS conductor and the possibility to use a non-insulated tape. The electromagnetic integration of an HTS insert into an existing LTS magnetwill also be addressed.|The completion of the project will allow scaling up the technology combining HTS inserts with more powerful outer magnet (for example 19 T + 6 T) in order to break the current field Iimit of low temperature superconductor-based magnets of 23.5 T and open a new high-field market segment.|
