Reliable integrity evaluation of ceramic brake disks

Abstract (Deutsch)

High end cars are presently equipped with high performance carbon-ceramic brake disks. These are expected to gradually equip all car categories. The company Proceq has developed a device to determine the wear condition of these disks through magnetic pulse induction. So far, the development has been empirical: it needs to be completed through sound modelling, leading to an improved design, better reliability and accuracy and, thus, higher security for the end-users.
