Engineering of smart collagen-based tubular matrices for regenerative medicine
Résumé des résultats (Abstract)
(Allemand)
The aim of this project is to produce off-the-shelf tubular native and modified collagen implants for urinary tract and vascular tissue engineering. The bioactivity of the matrices will also be further enhanced by incorporation of cell-engineered human extracellular matrix proteins deposited by the respective cell type, followed by decellularization. This cell-engineering will be performed in a specially developed flow-bioreactor. Further, smart matrices are produced by combining collagen and fibrin, allowing covalent binding of specific growth factors, promoting in vivo cell-ingrowth. The respective matrices are packed and sterilised, to then be available as a commercial product.
