Broadband Power Line Communication on Overhead Wires

Abstract (Deutsch)

Broadband Powerline Communication (BPL) is considered as a communication solution for the emerging smart grid. Whereas such systems are already developed and deployed for underground wires this is not the case for overhead (OH) wires. The project tackles the technical challenge of BPL on OH wires with the ultimate goal of a product innovation for the industrial partner through deriving a generic system model, building a prototype system and conducting field trials.
